Glendale, CA – The

Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter (ANCG) announced
this week that applications for the Fall Session of its
Internship Program are now available. Interested individuals can
view and download copies of the application by visiting the “For
Students” section of the ANC Glendale website at
www.ancglendale.org.
“The ANC-Glendale
Internship Program not only helped prepare me for college and my
future in political activism, but also gave an extensive
overview of the inner workings of Glendale’s city government and
community,” stated Marie Danielian, a current summer intern with
ANCG. “I hope to continue serving my community and further my
involvement in grassroots activism with ANC-Glendale, after the
internship program is complete” added Danielian.
In addition to networking
with community leaders, candidates participate in workshops
featuring a variety of guest speakers, including public
officials, ANC leadership, and specialists from the community.
With the growth of the internship program, ANCG interns will
also benefit from increased externship opportunities with city
department officials, commissions, media establishments and
community based organizations.
“The
ANCG internship program brings many different opportunities
together under one umbrella, creating an ideal environment for
interns to get involved and most importantly to stay involved"
stated Nadia Simon, Summer Internship Coordinator for ANCG. “By
fostering their creativity and passion for community
involvement, we hope to provide our interns with the right tools
to pave the road for their future" added Simon.
The 2009 Fall Session of
the ANCG Internship Program will begin on October 3, 2009 and
end on December 18, 2009. Applications for the internship are
available on the ANC Glendale Chapter website at

Established in Fall 2007,
the ANCG IP is a selective part-time, leadership-training
program, which introduces young public servants to all aspects
of the public affairs arena. The program provides an
opportunity for student leaders and activists to gain an
in-depth understanding of Armenian American issues as well as
advocacy efforts on the local level, while contributing to
ANCG's vision and mission. The program hosts spring, summer, and
autumn sessions.

headquarters at (818) 243-3444 or at
